Let’s Dance by Valerie Bolling

Before I read the story, I assumed this book would be like most picture books, encouraging kids to get up and move in order to be healthy. But this was SO much more, and I was pleasantly surprised!

With every page turn you are transported to a new culture or time period and can see kids performing those dances in clothing that fits perfectly with the celebration. Maine Diaz did an absolutely wonderful job on the illustrations. They are so bright and colorful and vibrant and just really embody the dance style being represented on the page.

And to top it all off, every page offers short, quick actions that not only help bring the dances to life, but also offer actions that kids can do at home to match the dance style. These are written in beautiful, vivid, perfect rhyme by Valerie Bolling.

Such a wonderful book released this year by Valerie Bolling and Maine Diaz, and I would highly recommend it for any kiddo he loves to move and groove and wants to explore the dances of the world.
