I’ll be completely honest. Before I read this book, I knew NOTHING about coding except that it involved computers. With how our world becomes more and more reliant on technology and the jobs that revolve around tech, I love how books are being written and produced that introduce these concepts early on.
Josh Funk did a great job making this concept easy to understand, and introducing vocabulary that was relevant to the field, but not too difficult. I also liked that the story wasn’t so specific that it went over my head. While I was reading, I couldn’t help but think of the activity where kids instruct their teacher on how to make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, and they have to be very specific and go step by step.
This would make a great classroom book, and the concepts could easily be adapted for a class activity.
