Every year, Vivian Kirkfield hosts a writing contest called #50PreciousWords to challenge authors to write a SUPER short story. It can be no more than 50 words and it must have a beginning, middle, and end. Definitely not an easy feat, and not for the faint of heart. Here is the information you need to know, and my entry is located below.
- The story must be submitted in the comment section of her blog post between March 2 – 7.
- Do NOT include art notes.
- Title does not count toward word count.
- Only one entry allowed.
More detailed information can be found on Vivian’s blog.
Here is my entry for the contest:
A DRAGON GUARDS MY SCHOOL
A dragon guards my school.
A grumpy, flying, fire-breathing dragon.
Don’t be late, or ROAR!
Don’t step out of line, or OUCH!
Don’t ignore the bell, or AHHH!
But if he’s having a VERY good day,
He’ll roast marshmallows for s’mores.
But don’t forget the crackers and chocolate…
Or else.
Great story! Good Luck! 🙂
